Admissions Essay Season - I

Here are a few “peak” periods in admissions essay editing firms.

The first three months of the year, January through March, rank as the busiest season for college applications, law school applications, graduate school application and business school application. The first week of January is especially busy. During this period, admissions essays/application essays pour into admissions offices.

The next three months, from April through June, slow down, but quite a few law schools, graduate schools and business schools are still accepting applications throughout these months. During this second quarter, decisions are mailed out to applicants who submitted to admissions offices in the first quarter of the year.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: When you think of the admissions process, or of the application essay, don’t think of the millions of applicants you have to contest in some sort of “academic brawl.” Think of the process as one that’s actually challenging you to discover who you are.

Tips From An Admissions Essay Expert

Just in case you need application essay help and you’ve waited last minute (which we strongly discourage), here are a few tips to help you ease application anxiety.

First, create an outline of your personal statement. Think about what the admissions essay question is asking, as if you’re speaking in front of an admissions officer. Highlight your background and strengths as you narrate. Be natural as you’re writing…you’re in fact, journaling…your thoughts.

Second, write your personal statement within the suggested word count, and then come back and edit it for clarity.

Third, read your personal statement aloud and ask a friend or family member to listen in. Take critiques and make corrections to your personal statement as best as you can.

HINT: You may request personal statement samples from our offices, if you are a client. Otherwise, you can call one of our admissions consultants for feedback. As always, good luck!

Writing an essay for your college, business school, law school, medical school or graduate school application is an art. It requires careful layout of your thoughts, in a way that grabs the attention of an admissions officer who could potentially determine your future. (Right, no pressure).

Over the years, admissions consultants, who have attended competitive schools themselves, or taught at them, or participated in recruitment, have figured out the best practices for writing and editing application essays. Still, you are in a great position to define your best highlights, and you can work alongside an admissions consultant or essay editor to submit the perfect application.

These days, the economic landscape makes it harder and harder to gain admissions into colleges and academic programs. Especially if you’re applying to graduate school, you’ll have to compete with an influx of applicants who have left the work force to go back to school. Many of your colleagues would have studied for standardized exams, as you have, and could be very well be on par with you when it comes to test scores.

Hence, the personal statement has become an increasingly important tool to help you beat the crowd. If you can craft a statement that is original, compelling, and that shows why you’re the right match for a university, you’d have made yourself more than just a “number.” Our personal statement services understand how to make applicants stand out, and narrate their unique life stories–and trust us, everyone has a unique life story. Many have no idea how to share it with admissions officers.

Call a consultant today, and we’ll help you ease the anxiety of grad school, med school, law school, MBA or college applications, by helping you craft a great admissions essay that will grab the attention of admissions officers.

You want to start your college application process by researching a handful of colleges and universities that you would like to attend. Start with a list of 10 to 20, and narrow down the list as you eliminate colleges that do not meet your criteria. For example, if you list a university in Maryland as one of your schools of interest, but then, you realize that you do not want to attend college on the East Coast, then you eliminate that university and focus on a pool of schools that meet your geographic criteria.

For more tips and advice on how to start the college application process, contact one of our admissions helpers or consultants, and we’d be happy to speak with you. Of course, we specialize in getting thousands of prospective students into college. We are the best essay editing service on the web, and we’d be willing to give you tips on how to write a personal statement that can land you in the university of your choice.

Our service is unlike most admissions essay editing services on the web because we care about our applicants individually. We view every new essay or admissions client that comes in as special, and we take the time to encourage his or her own voice in the college, law, business/MBA, grad school or medical school application. Other services offer application essay help, and not have the expertise needed, nor the personal, individualized care required to help a prospective student with his or her personal statement.

Every year, students who apply to colleges or academic programs tackle the personal statement on their own. If you’re a good writer and editor, there’s a good chance you can craft a great essay and be admitted to the program.

However, even the best writers need an editor to review their work for errors, or a second set of eyes to help strengthen their essay points. In an economy that sees more and more candidates for admission into college, law school, grad school and med school, why take the risk of applying solo? Our essay editors have been trained for years to offer application essay help.
