How to Start Your College Application Process

You want to start your college application process by researching a handful of colleges and universities that you would like to attend. Start with a list of 10 to 20, and narrow down the list as you eliminate colleges that do not meet your criteria. For example, if you list a university in Maryland as one of your schools of interest, but then, you realize that you do not want to attend college on the East Coast, then you eliminate that university and focus on a pool of schools that meet your geographic criteria.
